“The people of Knowle West have put up with small change for years. We all know that repeated attempts have been made to revitalise specific local areas with mixed, often uninspiring results. Together with local people we have worked up a number of options for the Knowle West Regeneration Plan. Each of the five options is designed to meet the community vision.

To ensure a better future for Knowle West, the final plan must be ambitious enough to attract serious private investment and promise the important community improvements that secure government and Council funding. We believe this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Depending on how far you want to go, the area could be transformed by providing new housing, employment, transport, shops, green space, community facilities.

The regeneration of Knowle West is key to increasing prosperity and opportunity to South Bristol. The plan will link with new investment at Hengrove Park and Kingswear and Torpoint and Kingswear & Torpoint. The Knowle West regeneration plan will shape the City's new local ‘Site Allocations’ plan and Area Green Space plan.

We are working towards agreeing the Knowle West Regeneration Plan by Spring 2011. If agreed the plan will be delivered in phases over 20 years.
